Hexachrome is very similar to CMYK but besides a set of modified CMYK colours it also uses green and orange therefore increasing the number of colours achievable and also making the appearance of photographic images more vibrant. Hexachrome printing is more expensive than CMYK since it requires six printing units. In most cases the extra cost outweighs the advantage therefore most commercial printers do not use this process.
